ILA/iREAD Poster Contest-Local Entry Announced

The Illinois Library Association and Illinois Reading Enrichment and Development (iREAD) are sponsoring a poster contest to promote teen reading with the theme “Scare Up a Good Book.” The statewide winner will be announced in October 2008, and that winner will receive $1,000 in prize money. The poster selected to advance from Eisenhower’s local competition to the system-wide level was made by Scott Gregor. Congratulations, Scott, and good luck!

Wordle

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. Here’s one that we made from OBTW! The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.
